About the Academy
The Road to Indy Academy was formed as the result of a common interest among motorsport industry leaders. After successfully consolidating the american formula car ranks into a feasible and cost effective structure, the Andersen Group saw fit to gather the world’s top trainers to create the first true Motorsports training academy.
As a result, the academy offers drivers a rare opportunity to make a career in motorsport both as a driver and otherwise. The Road to Indy Academy is the fast track to success in Motorsport.

The Academy takes drivers from around the world and gives them the guidance they need to become top-level student athletes. On a day to day basis, you can find the Academy students on track at Andersen RacePark. Having molded it’s curriculum around the wants of the top teams in the Indy Car series, the Road to Indy academy stresses vehicle concept education, vehicle dynamics, and mental development.
Offering top performing students the opportunity to try their hand in a USF-2000 race car, the Road to Indy Academy truly is the world’s only in-house driver development firm. Our staff is hungry to push YOU to be best, so what are you waiting for ?
The Academy utilizes a custom built curriculum with which to develop drivers. The curriculum was developed with the input of the management of several important firms in the Indy Car series.
After initial evaluation, the driver is placed in our structure and given a lesson plan relevant to their skill-set. We believe in training individuals rather than coaching them. Coaching is a short-sighted band-aid style approach to an apparent weakness. A driver who has been trained has abolished his weakness prior to ever touching the circuit. To this end, we stress driver development with a bottom-up approach to education. By highlighting the concept rather than the process, we help to create future industry professionals who are above-all adaptable and capable of an ever-expanding skill-set.
The Road to Indy Academy is located at Andersen RacePark, a 18 acre racing facility in beautiful Palmetto, Florida. Lastly, as the home of the Road to Indy, the RacePark is frequented by numerous motorsport heroes and current Indy Car drivers looking for a place to keep their skills sharp.
Students will be offered the chance to secure a seat on the Road to Indy Academy Racing Team, known in familiar as the Academy Team. The Academy Team travels to Rotax Max Challenge sanctioned competitions in the state of Florida. Tied in with the curriculum of the Academy, the Academy Team gives drivers the opportunity to test their skills regionally, while still receiving full race support from the Andersen Racing Team staff and technicians.
Drivers who graduate from the Academy Team will be offered a spot on the Andersen Racing Team for full time National and International racing programs.
